Attention Contemporary Art Lovers! If you are in or around Chicago over the summer, try to make some time to “Take Your Time” in the experiential art exhibit with the work of Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson www.olafureliasson.net at the Museum of Contemporary Art, www.mcachicago.org. I was especially attracted to his gridded photographic suites - chromogenic prints featuring elements from the rugged landscape of his homeland. Using this uniform subject matter in each collection or series, be it rocks, caves, or horizons, he created a sculptural effect using simple materials like I’ve never seen them displayed before. Using a flat black wood frame, much like our L989 http://www.americanframe.com/AmericanFrame/FrameSelectOption.aspx?productid=334EB51B-AB0C-4CC7-BD66-5AAC3D7DBAB1&productname=Basics%20-%20Black he framed all of his photographs to image (no mat) and displayed them in large dramatic groupings. I was drawn in by the subject matter and so inspired by the display.
